The Texas unemployment rate fell to 6.9 percent in April, down from 7 percent in March and 8 percent a year ago. The state added 13,200 seasonally adjusted nonfarm jobs in April, the Texas Workforce Commission said, and saw an increase of 225,800 jobs over the past year.
