Alexander & Baldwin Maui project wins land reclassification

The Hawaii Land Use Commission has approved a plan to reclassify some 545 acres of land in Central Maui for A&B Properties' Waiale master-planned subdivision.
The Maui News reports the project will now go before the Maui Planning Commission and Maui County Council for review, according to Grant Chun, vice president of A&B Properties, the real estate arm of Honolulu-based Alexander & Baldwin (NYSE: ALEX).

The Tampa Bay Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America will host the PRSA Sunshine District conference in St. Petersburg from June 21-23.
?Sunshine District 2012 Conference: Navigating New Channels? sessions are scheduled at the Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg and the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront Hotel.

Stephanie Foote named to head Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts of Colorado on Wednesday announced Stephanie Foote as its new president and CEO.
Foote, who?s been leading the organization since January in a voluntary capacity as interim CEO, succeeds Megan Ferland. Ferland resigned in November after more than two years to become president and CEO of Seattle-based Girl Scouts of Western Washington.
Foote served as chair of the group?s board of directors from 2007 until this year. She?s the current chair of the Rose Community Foundation board.

U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary John Bryson honored Ambient Technologies in St. Petersburg with the Presidential ?E? Award for Exports.

The media news blogger Jim Romenesko is reporting that The McClatchy Co., owner of The Wichita Eagle and The Kansas City Star, will begin rolling out paywalls on more of its newspaper websites in the next 60 days.
Romenesko posted a confidential memo from Anders Gyllenhaal, McClatchy?s vice president for news, detailing some of the plans.

Miami International Airport will miss out on the initial American Airlines rollout of Boeing 777-300 ERs.

Missouri House Minority Leader Mike Talboy has been hired by Burns & McDonnell as the Kansas City engineering firm?s director of government affairs.

Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has opened a 10,000-square-foot outpatient rehabilitation center, the hospital announced May 22.
The facility houses more than 20 employees, including a pediatric physiatrist, six physical therapists, six occupational therapists, six speech-language pathologists, a lactation consultant and translators. Park City issues $6.5M in IRBs for former Kansas Coliseum site

The former Kansas Coliseum north of Wichita is being transformed into an aerospace testing site, and Park City is stepping up to help.
City leaders there on Tuesday approved $6.5 million in taxable industrial revenue bonds for the project, the Ark Valley News is reporting.
